moving on up

I just recently got back into blogging, which may be quite obvious. I just started this blog up not that long ago, and since I have been doing some research. I've found out that if you want to be taken seriously as a blogger and have people visit your blog on a regular basis, you can't be part of a blogging network such as BlogSpot.

I plan on signing up with a website host and doing the monthly thing. I am not decided on what host I will go with, but I've met up with a very highly regarded blogger who has had his blog displayed in national newspapers. You can check out his new blog to help out new bloggers--such as myself--here. He's a really nice guy and I am amazed that I was able to actually meet up with the guy! He's offered to give me a little personal advice which is really kick-ass.

You may be wondering why I would bother to start up my own website for a blog when there isn't much going on here. The thing is, there is no way for anyway to really know about this place. BlogSpot limits me in several ways and I fear that for what I will be blogging about, it will prevent me from growing. There are many more things I can do with my own site to bring people in and that is exactly what I plan on doing.

I don't even know if anyone is reading this, but if you are, I will let you know when I make the switch. It may not be for a few weeks, since there is a lot to do, so I'll be updating this blog quite a bit until then.

Okay, so a few years ago my brother came up with the idea of doing some funny short videos just for the heck of it. They all feature my friend and myself with a few appearances by my brother. These are a couple of years old and they were all done on a mediocre digital camera with iMovie. Anyway, here they are, oldest first and newest last:

You know, I'm really not one for these 'welcomes.' I never know what to say, how to say it or when to say it. Every time it all seems to be the same words and thoughts, so I'm just going to stop before I even start.

I'm not going to concern myself with what you may think of me or what the best way is to impress the masses. This is the Internet and so much crap passes through it a day, so many people pose as someone they aren't and it makes me sick. Anything I type is my attempt to give you 100% Michael Fox, since that is the whole point of this blog.

I had a blog before this, but I felt I was inconsistent in maintaining it and posting little rants. I then decided to create this new one since I’m entering a new chapter in my life. I’m heading off to university in a couple of weeks and I’m definitely looking forward to the experience but I worry about it at the same time. I’ll just suck it up and get right into it because, I had this same feeling when I first started public school and high school, and I everything turned out great then.

I figure I’ll be meeting a lot of new people and doing stuff I’ve never attempted before, so maybe this blog will help me get through it all--at least, that's the plan.

Anyway, I doubt anyone will read any of my posts, especially on a consistent basis, but I’m really not here to satisfy your needs. From time to time, I may sway from what I normally post on here and offer some insight on something I find particularly interesting; maybe you will to. This is all for now, but I will be back.
